Description
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources administers this program with federal funding provided under Section 205(j) of the Clean Water Act. It supports planning that determines the nature, extent and causes of water quality problems, identifies cost-effective and locally acceptable measures, or develops plans to put those measures into practice.
Projects may develop or update EPA 9-Element Watershed Restoration Plans, assess pollutant sources, map or plan stormwater infrastructure, design structural water quality practices, or share water quality planning knowledge. The Division particularly encourages work with concrete outputs and projects that benefit water quality regionally or statewide.
