Description
The Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division administers this EPA-funded program to reduce pollution carried by rainfall and snowmelt into Arkansas waters. It supports locally led watershed work, including best management practices, stream and riparian restoration, urban low-impact development, technical assistance, education and outreach, and water quality monitoring. Eligible project types also include Title X cost share through conservation districts and unpaved roads projects.
Selection reflects Arkansas’s 2024–2029 Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Plan. The highest priority is implementing best management practices in designated priority watersheds with EPA-accepted nine-element watershed management plans. Other priorities include work in under-represented priority watersheds, projects addressing listed impaired waters, and monitoring or planning that supports watershed management.
