Description
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Nonpoint Source (NPS) Grant Program, funded through Section 319 of the Clean Water Act and administered in partnership with the US EPA, provides competitive grants to support projects that address nonpoint source pollution—the leading cause of water quality impairment in Tennessee. The program funds implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs), public education, demonstrations, and water quality monitoring, with a focus on restoring impaired waterbodies and preventing further degradation. Projects may target agricultural runoff, urban stormwater, failing septic systems, streambank erosion, and related sources of diffuse pollution.
