The 4th World Media Lab is a year-long immersive fellowship supporting Indigenous storytelling and career development. Presented by Points North Institute in partnership with Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, and Camden International Film Festival, it brings emerging and mid-career filmmakers and visual artists into culturally centered spaces to develop skills, strengthen networks, and workshop projects in development.
The 2026 Lab centers on outreach, impact, and distribution amid disruption in the global media landscape, shifting power dynamics, and emerging community-led frameworks. Its hybrid format combines virtual engagements connected to Big Sky and Seattle with a week-long creative retreat and industry meetings in Camden. Fellows participate in festivals, hands-on training, masterclasses, pitching activities, and meetings with funders and other industry decision-makers.
