Description
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Mentorship Awards are administered by the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) and funded by VRS Recruitment. They recognize exemplary service in STEM mentoring and/or recruitment of individuals from groups underrepresented in mass spectrometry. The awards honor demonstrated contributions and impact rather than fund a specified research project.
The program highlights work that promotes equity and inclusion in STEM, including support for economically disadvantaged and first-generation students. It also recognizes the creation of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility policies, procedures and practices, as well as leadership in research addressing these priorities. Mentoring philosophy and the impact on individuals at any age, career stage or level are central to the award’s focus.
