Description
Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), Kansas’s housing finance agency, administers a combined application for 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), HOME Investment Partnerships funding, and National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) resources. The program helps communities and developers expand affordable housing, encourage private investment, and respond to local housing needs through new construction, acquisition and rehabilitation, and conversion.
The 2027 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) governs competitive allocations, including Kansas Affordable Housing Tax Credits. Priorities include geographic distribution, demonstrated housing demand, deeper affordability, suitable locations, energy efficiency, and efficient use of resources. Separate set-asides address rehabilitation, metropolitan and rural new construction, nonprofits, and Unique Opportunities. KHRC delivers resources through partners rather than providing housing or services directly.
