Description
The A. Orr Fantasy Grant is an annual award established in memory of Alice Orr Sprague (A. Orr), dedicated to supporting writers of middle grade and young adult (YA) fiction in the fantasy or science fiction genres. Sponsored by Michele Orr and administered by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the grant encourages the creation of imaginative and speculative fiction for young readers—including high fantasy, sci-fi, magical realism, fabulism, folklore, horror, alternate history, and related categories. The winner receives $600 cash and tuition to the SCBWI Summer Conference.
