The American Association for Anatomy (AAA) offers this award for graduate-level research posters presented at Anatomy Connected, its annual meeting. Graduate students and medical, dental, or veterinary students compete through blind abstract review followed by poster presentations judged at the meeting. The award recognizes scientific quality and importance and supports presenters through an honorarium and meeting-expense reimbursement.
Research-focused, non-descriptive presentations receive priority, although descriptive submissions are encouraged. Research is judged using the scientific process, with attention to the knowledge gap, testable aims, organized methods, clear results, interpretation, and results-supported significance. The competition forms part of AAA’s broader student and postdoctoral presentation awards; eligible members may also apply separately for travel support.
