    Description

The American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) administers this competitive, peer-reviewed grant with support from an educational grant from Pinnacle Biologics, Inc. It funds innovative, high-impact preclinical, translational, or clinical research on photodynamic therapy (PDT) as applied to bronchology and interventional pulmonology. The program aims to advance PDT in interventional pulmonary care while fostering innovation, mentorship, and the next generation of research leaders.

All AABIP members meeting the applicant requirements may apply; investigators within five years of completing formal training are particularly encouraged. The AABIP Research Committee independently reviews applications using an NIH-aligned framework. Industry sponsors do not participate in application review, scoring, or award selection. Recipients share their work through conference presentations and progress reports and are encouraged to publish findings in the Journal of Bronchology & Interventional Pulmonology (JOBIP).
