The Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) supports academic events and scholarly projects that promote Baltic Studies. Preferred activities include conferences, seminars, and workshops emphasizing participation by graduate students and early career scholars. International events involving scholars from outside the Baltic states receive priority. Funding can support these scholars’ participation or other meaningful contributions to the event program.
The program also prioritizes projects that build, maintain, and showcase Baltic collections outside the Baltic states. These may include libraries, archives, and art or archaeological collections supporting the study of Baltic peoples’ history and culture. Projects with a pan-Baltic or comparative aspect are especially encouraged, although proposals beyond these preferred activities may also be considered.
