Description
The AACAP Educational Outreach Program for Pediatric Residents is administered by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and supported by its Life Members Fund. It gives two pediatric residents a formal introduction to child and adolescent psychiatry through participation in the in-person AACAP Annual Meeting. The program helps residents establish relationships with child and adolescent psychiatrists as mentors and connect with others through academic and networking opportunities.
This is an educational outreach award rather than research-project funding. Participants attend resident-focused meeting activities, including a mentorship program, academic and networking sessions, an awards breakfast, and focus groups. A post-meeting stipend helps offset some of the travel and lodging expenses associated with attendance.
