The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) funds osteopathic medical education research and institutional research through its Annual Research Grant Program. Institutional research may take place within one college or across colleges to support informed decision-making, quality improvement and strategic planning. The program welcomes innovative, evidence-based and collaborative approaches, including pilot studies and projects that provide a foundation for additional or matching institutional support.
Collaborative, multi-institutional studies are strongly encouraged. AACOM also favors projects with feasible strategies for continuing beyond the grant period. Areas of interest include technology and artificial intelligence, workforce implications of expanding osteopathic colleges and teaching sites, curriculum innovation, clinical experiences, faculty and trainee scholarship, recruitment pathways, diversity and inclusion, and connections between osteopathic training and improved patient outcomes.
