--- ## Description This fellowship supports postdoctoral or clinical research fellows in conducting mentored research projects that address cancer disparities. Projects may be in basic, translational, clinical, or population sciences, but must have direct applicability and relevance to cancer disparities. The program aims to foster the career development of early-career researchers committed to this field, providing both financial support and professional recognition. --- ## Due Dates - March 12, 2026: Full application submission deadline via ProposalCentral (by 1:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time) Notification of award: May 2026 Grant term begins: July 1, 2026 --- ## Funding Amount - Total award: $130,000 USD - Duration: 2 years - Use of funds: - Primarily for salary and benefits of the fellow (at least 50% effort required) - Up to 50% for non-personnel research expenses (e.g., supplies, equipment, publication charges) - Up to $2,000 for attending the required Grantee Recognition Event and up to $1,500 for the Grantee Summit - No indirect costs, tuition, or unrelated travel allowed --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant field and not be a candidate for another doctoral degree. - At the start of the grant (July 1, 2026), must: - Hold a mentored research position (postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or equivalent) - Have completed their most recent doctoral degree within the past five years (not before July 1, 2021) - For MDs, the five-year window begins after the most recent doctoral degree or medical residency, whichever is later - Work under the mentorship of a qualified mentor at an academic, medical, or research institution worldwide - No citizenship or geographic restrictions, but applicants must have appropriate visa status if applicable. - Must be an AACR member in good standing (or apply for membership by the application deadline).
