Description
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and KidneyCAN offer these grants to stimulate creative approaches that translate basic research into new treatment options for kidney cancer. The program supports basic, translational, and clinical projects examining important, novel druggable targets or biomarkers relevant to the disease.
Researchers already working in kidney cancer may apply, as may investigators from other areas of cancer or biomedical research with approaches applicable to kidney cancer. A druggable target is a nucleic acid or protein whose activity can be modified by a drug and whose role in cancer has been demonstrated in relevant models. Biomarker research may address diagnosis, monitoring, prognosis, or patient stratification.
