Summary: Supports clinical toxicology research that develops new therapies and treatments and advances understanding of diseases caused by chemicals, drugs, and toxins.
Key Information: The principal investigator must be an AACT member in good standing.
The American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT) Research Award provides competitive funding for clinical research that encourages new therapies and treatments and deepens understanding of the principles and practice of clinical toxicology. It advances the Academy’s mission to unite scientists and clinicians in research, education, prevention, and treatment of diseases caused by chemicals, drugs, and toxins.
The award supports a specific study rather than the long-term operation of a research program. A study may be part of a larger project, but it must have a separate and distinct hypothesis and aims. Multidisciplinary research teams are encouraged, and the program also supports travel to present project results at the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology (NACCT).
