Description
The American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) runs this public policy fellowship to introduce graduate-level students to federal legislation affecting dental, oral, and craniofacial research and the oral health care delivery system. Fellows undertake guided research and advocacy professional development at AADOCR headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, working on projects that advance the association’s policy priorities.
The fellowship also includes a one-year appointment to AADOCR’s Government Affairs Committee, which advises its board and staff on federal policy issues. Fellows meet with scientific research and public health communities in the Washington, D.C., area, attend Advocacy Days on Capitol Hill and committee meetings, and serve as government affairs liaison to AADOCR’s National Student Research Group (NSRG).
