Description
The AADOCR Mind the Future Program is a national mentoring program centrally managed by the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research, with an educational grant from CareQuest Institute for Oral Health. It supports early-career investigators in dental, oral, and craniofacial research, building pathways toward independent research careers and a sustainable workforce equipped to address critical scientific challenges.
Participants undertake twelve months of intensive hands-on work combining in-person sessions, distance learning, and a mentored grant-writing experience. Activities include virtual education, a mock NIH study section, faculty development, and science communication training. The curriculum addresses research and technical skills, career development and personal growth, and mentor–mentee relationships. Continued engagement after the first year is encouraged to foster peer mentoring and further career development tailored to individual needs.
