--- ## Description The AADOCR Travel Award for New Clinical Investigators aims to encourage and support emerging researchers in dental, oral, and craniofacial (DOC) clinical research by funding their travel to present findings at the AADOCR Annual Meeting & Exhibition. Supported by Dr. Marcelo W.B. Araujo, the award is designed to foster participation and facilitate the dissemination of new DOC research within both the U.S. and international communities. --- ## Due Dates - Applications Open: July 14, 2025 - Applications Close: October 22, 2025 --- ## Funding Amount - Up to three awards are available each year. - Each award provides $2,000 to support travel expenses for presenting at the AADOCR Annual Meeting & Exhibition. --- ## Eligibility Applicants must meet the following criteria: - Be a current member of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) at the time of the abstract deadline. - Be a "new investigator," defined as being within 10 years of completing their last terminal degree (PhD, DDS, DMD, RDH, or equivalent) as of the application deadline. - Conduct clinical research in dental, oral, or craniofacial fields, as defined by the [NIH definition of clinical research](http://grants.nih.gov/grants/glossary.htm#ClinicalResearch), which includes: - Patient-oriented research involving direct interaction with human subjects. - Epidemiologic and behavioral studies. - Outcomes research and health services research. --- ## Application Process - Submit an abstract to the AADOCR Annual Meeting & Exhibition, selecting the "AADOCR Travel Award for New Clinical Investigators" option during submission. - Complete eligibility requirements as part of the application. - Submit a separate, detailed project overview (maximum 2 pages, double-spaced). - Ensure AADOCR membership is active at the time of the abstract submission deadline. - All abstracts are peer-reviewed by IADR scientific groups. Accepted abstracts for this award are further evaluated by a dedicated awards review committee. - Awardees must present their work at the meeting; presenter substitutions are not permitted. --- ## Additional Information - The award is funded by an annual donation from Dr. Marcelo W.B.
