The AAFPRS Foundation’s Resident and Fellows in Training Research Grant supports well-conceived, scientifically valid research with the potential to advance facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Endowed by Leslie Bernstein, MD, DDS, it is part of the Leslie Bernstein Grants Program, coordinated by the Foundation’s Research/EBM Leadership and Committee.
Projects should expand knowledge of the specialty’s theory, techniques, and applications and yield useful information within the award period. Proposals introducing knowledge or methods from other disciplines, or involving collaboration with related disciplines, are encouraged. Priority goes to innovative projects with potential to develop into long-range or expanded research programs capable of attracting other funding. Research addressing strategic areas identified by the AAFPRS Board of Directors or Research Committee may receive additional consideration.
