    Description

The AAHKS Disparities in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Grant is offered through the Foundation for Arthroplasty Research and Education (FARE), which supports the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ mission to advance patient care. The program funds research focused on racial and ethnic disparities in hip and knee arthroplasty, with evaluation and awards jointly administered by the AAHKS Diversity Advisory Board and Research Committee.

Studies should provide meaningful interventions addressing minority health disparities or identify and develop strategies to dismantle or mitigate systemic racism. The program also supports community-engaged intervention research and evaluation of organizational practices, policies, and social, cultural, or other structural factors contributing to disparities.
