--- ## Description This award honors early-career physicians who have made independent and impactful contributions to epilepsy research. Named after two distinguished epileptologists, the award aims to foster continued excellence and innovation in the field. Recipients are expected to present their work at the AAN Annual Meeting and will receive both recognition and support for their ongoing research efforts. --- ## Due Dates - October 2026 (anticipated full application deadline, projected) - November 2026 (historical scientific award deadline, projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Minimum $1,000 cash award - Certificate of recognition - Complimentary registration for the AAN Annual Meeting - $100/day per diem for expenses (up to two days, contingent on in-person meeting attendance) --- ## Eligibility - Physicians no more than 10 years from completion of their most recent training program - Academic rank no higher than associate professor - Must have conducted independent research (clinical, basic, or multidisciplinary) in epilepsy - AAN membership is not required - Industry employees are not eligible --- ## Application Process Applicants or nominators must submit: - Completed application form - Current curriculum vitae (CV) - Letter from the applicant detailing research focus, independent contributions, and rationale for award consideration - Letter of support from a colleague or mentor - Optional appendix with up to three relevant publications Both self-nominations and third-party nominations are accepted.
