Sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), this award recognizes neurologists and neuroscientists who demonstrate a commitment to health equity through clinical research, service, or leadership. It focuses on work that identifies, prioritizes, and addresses health disparities related to neurological diseases, including applicants’ independent contributions to the field.
The award recognizes both early-career and established professionals. Assessment considers the quality and impact of their work, including innovation, appropriate statistical methodology, ethical considerations, and the potential to fill a gap. Scientific citizenship, integrity, academic excellence, professionalism, mentorship, and the ability to inspire future generations also inform selection.
