Description
The Quality Improvement Innovation Award, sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), recognizes projects designed to improve patient safety, quality in practice, or both. It focuses on quality improvement work already put into practice, rather than proposals for future projects. Applicants describe the issue addressed, the change implemented, and the data and results supporting their conclusions.
The award highlights how implemented changes affect patient care and contribute to the greater good of neurology. The project summary addresses the gap in care, change-management methods, outcomes, and whether the approach can be implemented in other clinics or hospitals. Up to two recipients receive recognition each year, including visibility at the AAN Annual Meeting and in member publications.
