Description
The H. Richard Tyler Award is sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and its History Section. It supports historical research using the AAN Rare Books Collection at the Bernard Becker Medical Library at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. The award honors the neurologist whose donation helped establish the collection.
Projects should draw on the library’s rare and historic books and may contribute to scholarship on the history of medicine, neurology, or the AAN. Research may also be shared through the AAN History Ambassador program or other history-focused initiatives. The collection spans the late 1400s through the early 20th century, with most materials dating from the 18th and 19th centuries.
