Sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and its Sleep Section and endowed by Cephalon, Inc., this award recognizes distinguished academic contributions to sleep medicine and sleep neurology. It honors neurologists whose work has advanced sleep medicine and non-neurologists whose contributions have strengthened the intersection of sleep and neurology.
The award focuses on significant clinical or basic research in the neurology or neuroscience of sleep, including work that advances understanding of sleep disorders. Judges consider a researcher’s body of work and its impact on the field. The recipient is expected to present a selected manuscript during a scientific session at the 2027 AAN Annual Meeting.
