The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) supports research that advances arthroscopic surgery, improves patient care, informs surgical decision-making and advances minimally invasive techniques. Its Research Grant Program also welcomes all orthopaedic research projects: proposals are not limited to arthroscopy, sports medicine, military populations or federal priorities. AANA is the program’s sole sponsor and administrator, and its Research Committee reviews applications.
Eligible research spans all orthopaedic topics, patient populations, anatomic areas and study designs. Areas include clinical outcomes, comparative effectiveness, basic science, biomechanics, device evaluation, biologics, rehabilitation, surgical education, health services and health equity. The program seeks rigorous, innovative work that strengthens the evidence base across musculoskeletal practice. Grants are funded in part by the AANA Education Foundation through donations from individuals and corporations.
