    Description

The AAO-HNSF Humanitarian Research Grant supports investigator-initiated research conducted alongside humanitarian outreach. Offered by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation through CORE, it funds work advancing the understanding, delivery, quality, and outcomes of otolaryngologic care in resource-limited settings and underserved populations.

Projects may address clinical, educational, public health, healthcare systems, epidemiology, or implementation science questions. The program emphasizes scientific merit, cultural and ethical responsibility, feasibility in humanitarian settings, and potential improvements in patient care, capacity building, or health outcomes. Collaboration with host institutions and local partners is encouraged to align research with community needs, sustainability, and equitable practices. The grant also aims to develop clinician-investigators committed to global health scholarship and humanitarian service.
