This opportunity, offered by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) in partnership with the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research, provides early-career, research-oriented AAPM members the chance to join the Academy’s Council of Early Career Investigators in Imaging (CECI²). The program spans one academic year and includes a series of virtual webinars, workshops, and discussions with leaders in academia, NIH, and industry, focusing on advocacy, NIH funding, grant writing, and career development. The experience culminates with AAPM-sponsored travel to participate in the Academy’s Medical Imaging Technology Showcase and associated advocacy events in Washington, DC. Participants engage in national advocacy, networking, and gain direct exposure to funding landscapes and professional growth opportunities in imaging research.
