Description
The AAPM Science Council Associates Mentorship Program (SCAMP) recognizes and cultivates outstanding early-career researchers, encouraging a long-term commitment to advancing science within AAPM. Sponsored by the Science Council through the AAPM Education & Research Fund, it integrates Associates into the organization’s scientific activities through mentorship and shadowing.
Each Associate is assigned a mentor from the Science Council, Research Committee, Data Sciences Committee, Therapy Physics Committee, Imaging Physics Committee, Radiopharmaceutical Committee, or their subcommittees. Associates attend selected committee meetings and join Task Groups or Working Groups chosen with their mentor’s input. Other opportunities may include abstract review, Early Career Investigator judging, and Annual Meeting committee activities. Participation continues through the end of the following calendar year, with reimbursement supporting meeting attendance.
