The Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences (AAPS) offers this annual research grant to scientists, researchers, and students in paleontology who will publish on specimens collected by, or in collaboration with, AAPS members. Because most AAPS members are active collectors, the program connects their collecting activities with research and publication on the fossils they collect or provide.
The grant supports publication, technical work, further collecting, and other research costs. Acquiring additional fossils for continued research may also be an acceptable use. AAPS administers the program as a public charity, with awards decided by members attending its annual meeting in Tucson each February.
