The John D. Constable International Traveling Fellowship, administered by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS), enables an international plastic surgeon to study and train with Association members and leaders in American plastic surgery. The fellow visits North America as an observer for 6–12 weeks under the sponsorship of AAPS members. The program aims to deepen understanding of American plastic surgery and promote goodwill and academic interchange between international and American surgical communities.
Established through an endowment honoring Dr. Constable’s contributions to plastic surgery education worldwide, the fellowship emphasizes knowledge fellows can bring back to their home countries. Past recipients have reported an enhanced ability to treat patients and train colleagues after returning home.
