Description
The American Academy of Religion’s Regional Development Grants support special projects within AAR regions that enrich members’ scholarly and professional lives and advance the organization’s regional work. Individual and collaborative projects must address at least one priority: strengthening a regional community through collaboration, engagement, or sustainability; creating a scalable model for other regions; or advancing public understanding of religion through religious literacy, public dialogue, or education beyond the academy.
Supported activities include seed funding for new, sustainable initiatives that can continue beyond the grant period, one-time projects that enhance regional vitality or public engagement, and workshops, training programs, and innovative regional events. Proposals must demonstrate coordination with regional leadership.
