Description
The AAS/AASF Student Diversity Travel Award is an annual initiative by the Association for Academic Surgery to foster diversity and inclusion within academic surgery. This award is designed for medical students from underrepresented backgrounds—including those defined by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, military service, personal identity, or coming from medically underserved areas—who are interested in pursuing a career in academic surgery. Recipients receive complimentary registration, a travel stipend, hotel accommodations, and public recognition at the Academic Surgical Congress, supporting both their professional development and visibility within the field.
