The AAS/AASF Trainee Research Fellowship Awards are designed to support surgical residents and fellows engaged in research that advances the field of surgery. The goal is to foster the academic development of future leaders in surgery by providing direct support for innovative research that improves patient care or addresses disparities in surgical outcomes. Recipients are recognized at the Academic Surgical Congress and are expected to present their findings at the conclusion of the funding period.
