Description
The A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award, administered by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), honors excellent teachers for their contributions to improving neurology now and in the future. It demonstrates respect and appreciation for neurologic teaching and its role in connecting students, residents, faculty, clinicians, researchers, and patients.
Rather than funding a research project, the award provides national recognition of teaching contributions through an AAN certificate. It builds on local acknowledgment of teaching excellence: the Academy relies on the nominating statement and an existing local award or commendation rather than independently judging the excellence of nominated teachers. The program recognizes physician, physician-scientist, and scientist educators.
