Description
Established in 2020, AB Nexus provides seed funding, resources and guidance to expand multidisciplinary research collaborations between the University of Colorado Boulder and University of Colorado Anschutz campuses. It supports significant research questions through basic, translational, clinical and epidemiological approaches, including unmet needs in clinical science, health services and population health.
The program seeks scientific impact, innovation, lasting cross-campus collaboration and pathways to sustainable external funding. Its two mechanisms support different teams and scopes: Exploratory/Broad funds new early-career collaborations across biomedical topics, while Special Topic supports new or existing teams developing novel AI approaches for brain health and neurological disease. Projects should connect their research to federal funding priorities and identify opportunities for subsequent competitive grant applications.
