Description
AbbVie’s Independent Educational Grants support programs that help healthcare providers, patients and care partners understand current and emerging science, therapies and standards of care. The program funds independent medical and patient education, including telehealth education, as well as fellowships that extend healthcare providers’ training. Its goals include improving quality of care, advancing medical practice, increasing disease awareness and bridging gaps between academic, community and rural care settings.
Areas of focus include immunology, oncology, neuroscience, aesthetics and eye care, alongside other research areas with potential to improve patients’ lives. AbbVie considers education addressing complex immunologic conditions, changes in cancer testing and care, neurological disease and patient engagement, evidence-based aesthetic practice, and evolving eye care treatments.
