Description
The ABC-CLIO Leadership Grant supports school library associations in planning and implementing leadership programs at the state, regional, or local level. Established in 1986 and awarded annually, the grant is administered by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association, and sponsored by ABC-CLIO.
Supported programs may involve new members, train ongoing leaders, prepare school librarians for building- or district-level leadership, or encourage collaboration among organizations. New ideas and approaches to leadership are encouraged. Past projects illustrate the program’s emphasis on leadership development and advocacy, including a leadership academy for a new generation of school librarians and an institute designed to strengthen librarians’ advocacy tools and confidence.
