Description
The American Bar Foundation (ABF) Visiting Scholar Program invites national and international scholars to join its sociolegal intellectual community on a temporary basis. The program provides a setting for visitors to pursue their own scholarship while connecting with the foundation’s ongoing research and intellectual life. The ABF is an independent, nonprofit research institute dedicated to empirical and interdisciplinary study of law, legal processes, and legal institutions.
Residencies are offered throughout the year as space allows, including summer visits. Scholars on leave or sabbatical are encouraged to apply. Preference is given to applicants whose scholarship aligns with the ABF’s research agenda and to visitors who will be in residence full-time for all or part of the year.
