Summary: Mentored fellowships support postdoctoral scientists conducting basic and translational brain tumor research.
Key Information: Applicants must already work at their Lead Mentor’s institution when submitting the Letter of Intent.
The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) supports postdoctoral fellows embarking on careers dedicated to brain tumor research. These mentored fellowships fund basic and translational laboratory, computational, or field-based projects with significant potential to advance understanding of brain tumors’ causes, effects, diagnosis, and treatment. The program aims to help early-career scientists enter or remain in the field and develop into its next generation of leaders.
Projects may address benign or malignant tumors, primary or secondary (metastatic) tumors, and pediatric or adult populations. Research areas include biomarkers, tumor biology, diagnosis, genetics, drug delivery, imaging, molecular/genetic epidemiology, etiology, novel therapeutics, and risk assessment. A Lead Mentor provides scientific management and research guidance alongside support for the fellow’s career development.
