Description
The American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) supports documentary scholarship on Ireland between the Treaty of Limerick (1691) and the Act of Union (1800) through this research travel fellowship. It enables North American-based scholars to travel to Ireland and Irish-based scholars to travel to North America to further original research.
The fellowship covers any aspect of eighteenth-century Ireland, without restrictions by academic discipline or sub-period of specialization. Research must center on primary sources from the period—such as printed matter, manuscripts, buildings, works of art, or other artifacts—rather than existing secondary literature. Dr. Jason McElligott and Dr. James May manage the fellowship.
