Khyentse Foundation’s Academic Development Grants support and advance authentic Buddhist studies at the highest level of academic excellence. The program focuses on Buddhist study and research at university and graduate levels, building on scholarly traditions once centered in Asian monasteries and dharma centers and now flourishing at universities around the world.
The grants support academic programs and outreach to students on campus, the wider community, and the public. The foundation seeks to inspire students and faculty through teachers and scholars who know the Buddha’s teachings, are grounded in Buddhist traditions, and bring an open-minded approach to debating Buddhism’s role in the world today. Collaborative sponsorship from universities, academic institutions, and other benefactors is encouraged.
