The Mitacs Accelerate Fellowship offers graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in any discipline an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience through internships with partner organizations, while receiving a competitive stipend and professional skills training. Fellows split their time between their academic institution and a non-academic partner (e.g., company, not-for-profit, municipality, or hospital) working on innovative, real-world projects. The program is designed to foster collaboration between academia and industry, develop research and professional skills, and drive innovation across sectors.
