Description
The Mitacs Accelerate Fellowship provides a long-term funding and internship option for top-ranked master’s and PhD students in any discipline. Fellows apply academic expertise to real-world research challenges while dividing their time between their academic institution and a partner organization. Research plans are developed jointly by interns, academic supervisors, and partners, with academic research support and partner supervision throughout the project.
The program supports research that expands knowledge relevant to both the academic community and the partner, rather than consulting or routine development work. Projects should deliver concrete benefits to the partner organization and Canada. Fellows also have access to professional development training in interpersonal, project management, and entrepreneurial skills, helping them build networks and experience beyond academia.
