Key Information: CCRF accepts only one letter of intent per Principal Investigator per calendar year across its grant programs.
Children's Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) supports clinical trials seeking better treatments for hard-to-treat childhood cancers through the Accelerating Hope award. The program prioritizes Phase 0–Phase 2 trials and is limited to clinical research. It advances CCRF’s commitment to safer, less toxic therapies for children with cancer.
For this award, “hard-to-treat” means five-year survival below 70% for an individual childhood cancer, a cancer with unfavorable behavior such as relapse or metastasis, or a molecularly defined subtype. Examples include osteosarcoma, AML, DIPG, MLL-rearranged leukemia, and PAX3-FOXO1-rearranged RMS. Cancers with survival below 70% in groups defined by age, sex, or race/ethnicity may also qualify when pursuing a biologic hypothesis. Applicants must substantiate fit with this definition using scientific literature.
