Key Information: Grant funds cannot pay for non-Helix commercial bar preparation programs or materials.
AccessLex Institute’s Bar Success Intervention Grant Program funds programs and interventions designed to increase bar exam passage rates among law students and graduates most at risk of not passing, and/or at institutions with ultimate bar passage rates below 70%. Its central goal is to expand the knowledge base about effective bar success programming that can be scaled and replicated.
Supported projects must connect clear program goals with intervention components, measurable objectives, and a comprehensive evaluation plan. Evaluations must use valid data collection and analytical methods, track participants beyond the intervention itself—such as through bar exam administration—and document relevant outcomes, including exam results. AccessLex gives preference to treatment/control group evaluations, sustainable programs with long-term participant support, and collaborations across institutions or organizations.
