Funder: American Contact Dermatitis Society
Due Dates: October 15, 2026 (October cycle) | April 15, 2027 (April cycle)
Funding Amounts: Up to $3,000 per applicant
Summary: Supports focused mentoring experiences that help young dermatologists develop academic skills and become leaders or experts in contact dermatitis.
Key Information: Either the applicant or mentor must be an ACDS member, and they must be from different institutions.
The American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS) Mentoring Award helps young dermatologists acquire additional academic skills that may not be available at their training institutions. It supports dermatology residents, dermatology fellows, and dermatologists up to five years out of residency in developing expertise and leadership in contact dermatitis. Experiences center on work with one or two specific mentors rather than an entire department.
The award supports research-related expenses and travel needed for a unique mentoring opportunity. Past experiences have included investigating when to patch test patients with atopic dermatitis, collaborating on a metal allergy textbook, learning from challenging contact and occupational dermatitis cases, and developing a journal article on contact dermatitis in the atopic child.
