Description
The ACES–Embrapa partnership supports collaborative research between the College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Organization. The ACES Office of International Programs administers the program with support from the ACES Office of Research. Each ACES-funded project must form an integrated research program with an Embrapa collaborator.
Projects selected through the 2025 competitive call address climate-smart cattle monitoring in Brazil–U.S. grazing systems, agricultural waste-to-energy solutions, and greenhouse gas emissions from intensified agricultural production. The emissions project combines simulation modeling, artificial intelligence, and geoprocessing to support public policies. ACES and Embrapa each fund projects through the partnership, but their funded projects are not necessarily paired collaborators.
