2027 Medical Student Research Award
The 2027 Medical Student Research Award supports medical and osteopathic students in mentored summer gastroenterology or hepatology research to build their interest in these fields and advance patient-oriented research.

Description
The American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and its Institute for Clinical Research and Education offer this award to build promising medical and osteopathic students’ interest in gastroenterology and hepatology. Students undertake a focused summer project under the mentorship of an ACG member. Possible projects include case series, quality improvement projects, retrospective cohort studies, and meta-analyses.
The award is part of ACG’s support for patient-oriented research with direct applicability to clinical care. This can include research with human subjects, studies of diagnostic or therapeutic interventions, work with human tissues or specimens, and translational research. Animal studies are considered only when the work cannot be done in humans; applicants with questions about such studies should contact research@gi.org before applying.
