Description
The American Chemical Society (ACS) recognizes individuals whose significant accomplishments have stimulated or fostered women’s interest in chemistry and promoted their professional development as chemists or chemical engineers. The award focuses on encouraging women to choose careers in the chemical sciences and engineering while generating a broader appreciation of chemistry as the central science.
Part of the ACS National Awards program, this award combines individual recognition with a grant to an academic institution designated by the recipient. The institutional funding strengthens activities that meet the award’s objectives. The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, Inc. established the award in 1993 and sponsors it.
