Description
The American Chemical Society Fellows Program recognizes and honors members for outstanding achievements in science and the profession, together with equally exemplary service to the Society. Created by the ACS Board of Directors in December 2008, it is part of the broader ACS Awards Program and awards the Fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACSF) designation rather than supporting research projects.
Selection requires documented excellence and leadership in both scientific or professional impact and ACS volunteer service. Professional contributions may involve research, chemistry education, or leadership and management within the chemical enterprise. Volunteer contributions must demonstrate specific results benefiting ACS, its membership, and its community. Excellence in only one area is insufficient.
